Copper pseudomorph after Azurite ("Copper Rose")This is an outstanding "floater" "Copper Rose" pseudomorph specimen from the only place in the world where they are found. The piece is damage free and dramatic with its striking aesthetics and form. It is important to stress the fine quality of the piece from the standpoint of the fact that the individual blades of the "rose" are unbelievably SHARP and distinct, which is unlike many others I've seen from this locale, as they can be somewhat "lumpy"

The terminations on the Amazonite crystals are rare in my experience and make for a lovely color contrast

this mine produces great Ferberite specimens

There are also a few classic “bent” crystals on the piece as well

The piece is crystallized all the way around save the bottom where it detached from the pocket

and it's because of the tremendous gemminess which allows one to clearly view them whether they're on the surface or directly in the center

but they weren't GEM quality like this piece

the richer colored areas are a textbook example of the “Blood Vessel Opal” from this locality where the iron oxide inclusions have formed thin lines near the surface to give it an almost organic appearance
