2022, Domaine Weinbach, La Colline du Château, Pinot NoirThe 2022 Pinot Noir La Colline du Chteau was harvested on the granite of Grand Cru Schlossberg. The ferment contained 60% of whole bunches and this spent 24 months in oak. There is just a touch of distant woodsmoke on the nose, gentle and smooth, almost with a touch of meatiness, but all very subtle. the palate teased into considerable detail and length with some trademark Dom Pérignon smokiness

its structure a little less sleek overall than the first wine

Easy to drink with a clarity and concentration that is perfectly balanced

My personal preference was for the interpretation that showed the brightest fruit and the most energy
