Description
Nepenthes lowii KinabaluNepenthes lowii is found in an upper montane environments on throughout Borneo. It is famous for feeding on the droppings of tree shrews and birds by luring them with a sugary exudate on the lid of its pitchers. The Kinabalu form of lowii tends to produce pitchers with interiors that are a bit more purple than other forms. Nepenthes lowii requires highland temperatures and high humidity to thrive. It needs very good drainage or is prone to rot

These plants should be grown as highlanders with good humidity though they may be able to tolerate a few months under intermediate conditions
It was bred by Bill Baumgartl years ago and has the designation “D4”
