Dovre 1940s/50s Downhill Ski Binding - Swivel Toe Iron - UNUSED RARE
Description
Dovre 1940s/50s Downhill Ski Binding - Swivel Toe Iron - UNUSED RAREThe Dovre Ski Binding Company, like many producers of ski equipment, had Norwegian roots. The two founders were originally from Norway, and the business was named after a mountain range in the country. Dovre, however, is a 100% American success story the founders met growing up Massachusetts and by the 1930s had built their company to be a leading maker of ski bindings. Ok, enough with the malarkey. So the problem with cable style bindings for
because they have never been used
birch base/hickory edge skis are in great shape and are ready for the snow
in contrast with the wider footprint of the Huron/Maine style
like many producers of ski equipment
This is a flat-out beautiful example of Järvinen's mid-60s "popular" racing ski
both wood and fiberglass
The middle of the blade is stamped "Staalsat" - stall means steel in some languages but I am not quite sure what the "sat" part means
But who needs straps
but they're also like wicked old
as this is 'merica and we deal with a lot of wet snow conditions
which clamped the boot toe down on a set of pins
This pair of skis hails from the mid 60s
