Antique Sterling Silver Thimble Charles Horner No 8 Chester EnglandThis is an original antique vintage sterling silver Charles Horner No. 8 thimble. It is hallmarked CH Chester Silver with a date mark. I am not sure what letter the date mark is though as it is worn. It has a couple of holes on the top. I am not sure if these were originally there or have worn due to use. Otherwise, it is in good condition and would be a nice addition to a collection.

It has been hand painted and is hand signed Made in USSR Oct 5

It still has it's original worn paint which I think adds so much character

2 1/2 inches in width and 1 1/8 inches in height

The sofa measures 2 3/4 inches in length

There is a shield on the top that can be monogrammed or engraved

They are extremely heavy for their size and are very well made

The match striker is on the bottom of the barrel

It is missing it's glass insert inside

I am not sure what wood it is made of but it is gorgeous

It is painted on a round brass metal plate and measures 10 1/2 inches or 27cm in diameter

It is written in Italian

This is a precious original antique crystoleum reverse painting on glass from the late 1800's - early 1900's
