Exceptional elephantThis stunning little elephant looks like he ran through a child's birthday party and got tangled up in the decorations! Actually he was inspired by my favorite Anthropologie plates. You must look closely to appreciate all the details on this little fellow. His body is painted in shades of blue and white checks, enhanced by yellow ochre. His inner ears are yellow ochre stripes and a blue swirl wraps around his trunk. The polka dots on the trunk are

The sides and inner trim are blue/black creating depth and interest

After covering the solid maroon ceramic with spray primer I launched into the design process

Next I painted the tip and heel in French blue acrylic paint
