The flower of the month for February is the Violet. I chose to paint the Violet in two styles, one on cyanotype and one abstractly. The Violet symbolizes faithfulness and spirituality. Violet Night Story: I grew up in the country on a couple of acres in Western New York

I’ve never completed a painting so quickly

this piece emerged as I explored the deeper places of my heart—bringing into the light what had long been hidden (or swept under the rug)

which then signifies the coming of the next season

This piece was imagined while the girls and I were skipping stones in a stream behind a park near our home

The first commission I ever did was for a friend whose baby passed in the womb

the light of Christ shines through
