Bertrandite
Description
BertranditeBetrandite is a fairly rare beryllium silicate, and crystals are typically small worldwide, usually less than 1 cm. These new specimens from Golconda feature crystals measuring OVER 3 cm(!) which is world class for the species. Not only are these monstrous crystals, but the quality is as good as it gets showing a glossy vitreous luster and a gorgeous porcelain white hue. This particular piece features a top quality, DOUBLY TERMINATED, highly lustrous,
Here we have an incredibly rare cluster of crystals from Tomokoni featuring thin
because it’s so different from what I’m used to seeing from this area
The three predominant free-standing crystals have wonderful luster
Specimen# CO712B66
The type locality for Creedite is in Colorado
and this one is a fine example of an elongated hexagonal prism with first and second order pyramidal modifications on the termination
This complex feldspathoid is one of the more obscure members of the Cancrinite group
A superb example of these supremely fine quality Coppers
Small groups of what I call “popcorn” Calcite are overgrowing a group of “Milky” Quartz crystals
but I never had this piece analyzed to know for sure) with distinct crystal faces on all sides
He was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936
there are a few partial blades of Brookite on the piece which are not fully terminated
