Winter Traditions85x85 Judy and Brad Niemeyer designed the layout, instructions, and foundation papers for Winter Traditions in 2017 from a collection of 16 Mixer Blocks designed for foundation paper piecing. The first block is a unique design of a Snowflake designed by Quiltworx over 7 years ago. The second block is a traditional compass block that we recreated for foundation paper piecing. The third block is a 16 Traditional Feathered Star block. All three blocks

A sewing technique called foundation paper piecing is used to assemble the units required to make this quilt

allowing it to become part of a series of patterns where 16” blocks can be mixed and matched to create a variety of layouts
