Buss - Meditations at Dusk - Euphonium Solowith Harp; Meditations at Dusk for euphonium and harp was composed during 2024 for U. S. Coast Guard Band musicians, Patrick Nyren, euphonium, and harpist Megan Sesma. It received its world premiere by these musicians on January 12, 2025 at Colony Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut. This work is in two movements. The first, Once, Long Ago, is permeated by a feeling of nostalgia and sweet, longing memories. Occasionally there is a slight tinge of sadness

The tune regained popularity in 1987 when John Bell and Graham Maule put words to the tune and retitled it as 'The Summons
