Turkana Bowl 70Our collection of vintage Turkana bowls are one of our favourites. This bowl is part of an extremely special collection which took 8 years to curate. Each bowl has been hand carved from indigenous wood by women of the Turkana community in Kenya. Turkana bowls are known for their distinctive and unique shapes as well as their beautiful carving details, showcasing the artisanal wood working skills of the Turkana people. carving beads from recycled cow bone is centuries old and the custom of making the beads still continues today

Our Ashton rug is hand-woven in South Africa from pure New Zealand wool in a traditional Tuegla weave

which served the function of hanging the bowls up when not in use
