The key to this is throwing everything you think you know or have heard about caring for them and just wait for the pearls to "pucker" usually they are plump and firm and when they are ready to take in more water they will get a tad softer

Use a well-draining medium such as large bark chunks + perlite + charcoal or an open orchid mix
