Contained Distress by Eberta Sulistyaningrum
Description
Contained Distress by Eberta SulistyaningrumAfter seeing Picasso's Femme en pleurs at the Tate Modern, Eberta was deeply affected by its themes of suffering and loss, later deciding to draw upon that catharsis to create Contained Distress. Her reimagination of Picasso's painting uses tribal masks and tattoos from the Dayak tribes of Borneo, whose people are known for their fearless ability to overcome challenges that come their way. @ebertasaurus
