Agricola Marrone Barbera D'Alba Carlot 2022The Agricola Marrone winery is based in the famous village of La Morra, Barolo. The family has been working in the area for 4 generations now, and have built a reputation for creating expressive and powerful wines. This is a very traditional Barbera from vineyards in Madonna di Como, Alba. The Carlot hills have a brilliant south east exposure at 400m, with fully mature vineyards planted in 1988. Their 25 hectares of vineyards are set in an area steeped in winemaking history

Made from 100% Ugni Blanc grapes grown on a 7-hectare estate in the premier Grand Champagne 1er Cru area

means beacon and in this instance they are referring to the beacons of fire that were placed on the top of hills to rapidly pass signals between towns and populations

the whites are made from several different grape varieties

and more savoury notes of juniper
